Scottish singer-songwriter Iona Lane will start the evening. Iona writes and performs subdued and poetic songs, inspired by the overwhelming nature of the Highlands and its long stays on the Isle of Iegg, the Isle of Mull and Sanday on Orkney.
Iona Lane is followed by the Goereese singer songwriter Clementine. Clementine brings her own songs, in which she often draws on very personal experiences and events. Clementine stayed in Nashville at the end of last year to record a new album to be released. Expect an intimate, personal and penetrating performance.
The program will be closed by the Dutch folk group Pekel. Founded in 1990, Pekel brings what they call Maritime Folk, or a mix of their own songs and generally known Dutch sailors and other songs. Sad to passionate ballads and outright sing-alongs, but also naughty songs pass in review. Pekel's enthusiasm, craftsmanship and extensive instrumentation – think accordion, guitar, double bass, but also cajón, bagpipes, bouzouki, mouth harp and flute – guarantee a pleasant music party.
