Shanty choir & Clementine will play the music performance 'Op Volle Kracht' at the Rabobankzaal in the Diekhuus in Middelharnis.
In 2018 shanty choir 'Op Volle Kracht' celebrates its 15th anniversary. Together with Clementine Volker they have a special evening on the program that arose from their mutual love for shanty's and Irish music.
Clementine grew up as captain's daughter. When her father came home after his long travels this was celebrated exuberantly and the French chansons made way for his favorite music of Irish character. Water, nature and freedom have also always played a major role in her youth and that together explains her special bond with Celtic culture and Irish folk music. She literally comes home when she sings Irish music.
The Shanty Choir, now as a "famous" shanty choir of over 50 singers and musicians, who sing and have fun one evening a week and perform at many events / festivals every year. Both close to home (various performances on Goeree-Overflakkee) and "on the other side" let "On Full Power" be heard! In many locations the choir is encouraged by "supporters"! The choir has a very extensive repertoire of approx. 90 sailor songs and has released 3 CDs.
